| sorry, It's not as hard for me, since I've always been suspicious of H.C. --- I did have to stop sending money once he declared depart out |

Kudos for recognizing early on his sharp turn into heresy. |

I was never too enthusiastic w/Camping - I did follow him - at a respectable distance! - around the "1994?" era - and afterwards thought he had some really sound insight and Bible teaching on into the '90s. Only vaguely recall his speculation on a Christmas 94 Parousia; missed the Oct '94 and the '95 and '96 "forecasts", being only an occasional Open Forum listener. He did do 2 very thorough and interesting studies on Ruth and Mark through that time on Family Bible Study.
I'd all but stopped listening to FR by late '01 - then he came along with "Depart Out!", and away went most of my favorite teaching programs! Of course, these were contributed by churches and other bodies who disagreed w/"Depart Out!" - and that was when I stopped paying attention to FR.
Based on where FR have come since then - I would indeed contend the "Depart Out!" doctrine/era to be the defining point beyond which Camping truly slid into decline and heresy - perhaps having even been put under strong delusion by God.
I've frequently seen "Camping friend", "camping-ite", "Camping-ite", singular and plural, in thread titles and bodies, etc. posted here and never realized it should have been auto-edited. (One fella who recently was let go from the forum actually chided me for using the term "Camping friend" - go figure ...
AHA! I see above that I was just "auto-edited" myself! |

How can we ever know they are truly gone?
